Men's Golf: Pirates finish sixth at Southern California Championships

VANDENBERG AFB -- The Orange Coast College men's golf team's strong season came to a successful end on May 4 with a sixth-place performance at the 2009 Southern California Championships, held at Marshallia Golf Course. OCC shot a team score of 778 and finished behind SoCal champ Palomar (741), Santa Barbara (753), Ventura (757), College of the Canyons (762) and Santiago Canyon (770). Marcus Sostak-Rosa wrapped a stellar season with a 4-over-par 76 to lead the Pirates. Other top individual scores include Ryan Indovina (78), Joe Doody (78), Albert Kilgore (79), Kord Tagley (81) and Florencio Anadon (83). "It's been a very exciting year and this type of finish is something the guys can be very proud of," OCC head coach Sean Collins said. "We've made some huge strides in men's golf and hopefully the success from this year's team can help generate more success for years to come."
