Women's Soccer: Pirates open season with 5-0 win

WHITTIER -- The Orange Coast College women's soccer team opened the 2009 season with a strong performance, topping host Rio Hondo 5-0 on Friday in nonconference action.
Lara Tishler led the Coast offense with two goals and an assist, while Kallie Ryker, Taylor Carpenter and Brooke Anderson each added goals. Assists were provided by Ryker, Kayla Albin, Jasmin Antunez, Rachel Gist.
In goal, Claudia Arias notched four saves in the shutout win.
OCC returns to action at the Ventura Tournament, which begins on Friday against Cuyamaca at 5 p.m.
