COSTA MESA -- After dishing out four assists in his first three games, Jordan Gorman found the back of the net himself for two goals, leading the Orange Coast College men's soccer team to a 5-1 nonconference win over visiting Glendale on Tuesday at the OCC Soccer Complex.
Gorman also notched his fifth assist of the season to the lead the Pirates (3-1), while Adrian Buonanoce, Dean Regis and Christian Celis also scored goals for the hosts.
The fun started for Gorman early on as he took a nice cross pass from Takuma Hori and buried his shot into the back of the net just 23 seconds into the contest, giving OCC a 1-0 lead.
After Glendale tied the game in the 14th minute, it was all OCC the rest of the way. Gorman added his second goal of the game on a header in the 42nd minute off a cross pass from Sean Galloway.
In the second half, Shun Katashima fed a pass to Buonanoce and the sophomore ripped a perfect shot under the crossbar from 20 yards out to make it 3-1.
In the 75th minute, a nice 2-on-1 break started by a Gorman pass was finished with a goal off the head of Regis for a 4-1 Coast advantage.
The scoring was completed in the 87th minute when Jose Godoy's shot ripped off the left post, but was followed up by a shot into the goal by Celis.
That was more than enough support for OCC goalkeeper Zakre Silva, who had five saves in the win.
The Pirates return to action on Friday at home against Long Beach City, beginning at 4 p.m.
