CYPRESS -- After a 1-1 tie at the half, the Orange Coast College men's soccer team turned up the jets and rolled past Cypress 4-2 on Friday in Orange Empire Conference action.
OCC (5-4, 2-0 in OEC) opened things with a goal by Antonio Gonzalez in the fifth minute off an assist from Takuma Hori, but the Chargers (4-3-2, 0-1-1) tied things up four minutes later and that's where it would stay for the remainder of the first half.
Will Munoz jump-started the offense in the 50th minute with a goal off an assist from Denny Perdomo and scored again two minutes later off a feed from Shun Katashima, putting Coast up 3-1.
Hori gave the Pirates some added insurance in the 81st minute with a goal off a pass from Jordan Gorman before Cypress closed things out with a goal in the final minute of play.
Coast returns to action on Tuesday at Irvine Valley (3 p.m.) before returning to the OCC Soccer Complex to host Golden West on Friday (3 p.m.).
