COSTA MESA - Orange Coast College's Alexandra Wilson (pictured above, left) and Britney McAleer (above, right) were second-team, All-Orange Empire Conference selections, as chosen by the conference's coaching staff.
Wilson, a sophomore from Huntington Beach, participated in all 42 games this season with a .330 batting average, driving in 17 runs on 41 hits.
"Alex has been the most versatile and durable player on the squad," OCC head coach Pat Craig said. "Her leadership, consistent hitting, and ability to play any defensive position proved that all season.”
Wilson also received the team’s MVP Award for the 2006 season.
McAleer, a freshman from Costa Mesa, finished the year hitting .287 leading the team in hits (43), RBI’s (30) and home runs (eight). “Britney was the most feared hitter on the team, she hit three home runs in conference play, including two in one game against Saddleback College on April 12," Craig said.
McAleer also received the team’s Offensive Player of the Year award.
