Men's soccer snaps skid, blanks Glendale

GLENDALE - The Orange Coast College men’s soccer snapped a two-game losing streak with a 2-0 nonconference win against host Glendale on Friday night. Matt Schirmer got the Pirates off on the right foot, scoring the first goal in the 7th minute off of assists by Ian Cone and Dave Barnett. In the 63rd minute, the Pirates (3-3) capped off the scoring when Amir Kazemi scored off an assist by Cone. Goalkeeper Alex Roberts notched four saves to earn the shutout win. The loss drops Glendale to 0-7. OCC returns to action on Tuesday against L.A. Harbor at Cal State Dominguez Hills before playing at Cuyamaca on Friday. Both nonconference matches are set to begin at 3 p.m.
