STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR SOCIAL SCIENCE HONOR SOCIETY

Nineteen Orange Coast College students have been recognized for outstanding scholarship by the college’s social science honorary society, Phi Alpha Mu, this fall.
To qualify for membership, freshmen must complete a minimum of nine units, and sophomores 12 units, of OCC social science courses. They must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or better in social science, with an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better.
The society recognizes all courses in history, economics, sociology, philosophy, political science, psychology, anthropology, humanities, religious studies and geography. Phi Alpha Mu recognition is recorded on each student’s transcripts.
Students achieving membership in Phi Alpha Mu for Fall 2009 include, by city of residence:
