OCC Bookstore Expands Text Rental Program

The Orange Coast College Bookstore, in partnership with Associated Students of Orange Coast College, will expand its popular book rental program to include online rentals this fall on the bookstore’s website http://www.occ.bkstr.com.
The bookstore introduced the rental program in August 2009. Since then, more than 9,300 books have been rented, saving the OCC students over $400,000. Because of the program’s success, Follett, which operates the ASOCC Bookstore, has decided to expand its textbook rental program to many college bookstores that it operates.
This year students will be able to ship their rented titles back to the ASOCC Bookstore, and faculty members will be able to check to see if titles that they are considering using for their classes are rentable by visiting the Rent-a-Text.com website at http://www.Rent-a-Text.com and clicking on the faculty link http://www.rent-a-text.com/faculty.php. Faculty members can also request that textbook titles be added to the rental list.
