The BOGFW will pay your college enrollment fee ($26/unit) if you are a California resident, and if one of the following conditions applies to you when you enroll:

  • You have already qualified for some form of federal financial aid other than an FFEL loan during the same academic year for which you are seeking a BOGFW.
  • You or your parents are receiving TANF/Cal WORKS benefits, SSI or General Assistance at the time that you apply for the BOGFW. You will be required to provide documentation to show participation in one of these programs.
  • You fall into the qualifying income bracket as determined by filling out a BOGFW application. The Financial Aid Office will process your application and tell you if you qualify.

  • Board of Governors Fee Waiver Application 2009-2010 - On-line

2010-2011 APPLICATION AVAILABLE MAY 1, 2010 for faster posting complete the FAFSA at   http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

    How does the BOGFW work?

You do not receive any money as you would a grant; instead your enrollment fees are waived. If you complete a FAFSA and identify OCC as a college that you want your Student Aid Report sent to at least four weeks before you register and you qualify

    Or

If you complete a BOGFW application before you register and qualify

Your fee waiver will be posted on the college’s registration fee screen and you will not be billed for your $26/unit fee.  If you send your FAFSA in later, or fill out a BOGFW application and qualify after registering for classes, and if you have paid your fees, you can request a refund from the registration office for the same semester.

ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY ENROLLMENT FEES WITHIN 48 HOURS OF REGISTRATION.
