The Writing and Reading Center needs faculty to contribute to the DLA library. Several workshops will be held in order to assist faculty members as they create these DLAs and to instruct faculty on the protocol for DLA submissions.
English Curriculum

| English 098 and 099
classes require students to attend five hours of supplemental
learning in the Student Success Center. Instructors may choose the
specific activity that they would like their students to participate in
form the following: |

1. Workshops Designed by Faculty
Currently, the Writing and Reading Center is developing a short workshop series for fall 2010. Please check the “Workshops” section of our site for the most up-to-date information.
2. Study Groups Designed by Faculty
If you are interested in working with English faculty to implement a theme in your course and to participate in study groups, please contact Ginny Komenda.
3. Directed Learning Activities (DLAs) Designed by Faculty
Please read the “Directed Learning Activities” section of our site for more information about DLAs.
4. Individual and Group Tutoring Sessions
Instructors are welcome to allow their students the freedom of participating in individual and group tutoring sessions without a DLA requirement.

How Can I Get More Involved?
There are many ways that you can get yourself and your students more involved with the Writing and Reading Center!
- Schedule an in-house orientation or a class visit.
- Develop a workshop for students. For more information, contact Ginny Komenda.
- Attend a DLA workshop and submit DLAs.
