THE OCC BOOKSTORE WILL BE RENTING TEXTBOOKS THIS FALL!!
The OCC Bookstore will be renting over 200 textbook titles this Fall 2009 semester. These titles will be rented at 42.5% of the new retail price. In other words, a $100 textbook will rent for $42.50, saving the OCC student $57.50!!

Some Basic information about the Textbook Rental Program:

Both new and used textbooks will be rent eligible, both at 42.5% of the new retail price

The OCC student must be 18 years old or older and have a Driver’s License or OCC ID

Students that don’t return their rental textbooks by December 21, 2009, will be charged 75% of the new retail titles plus a 7.5% fee. In other words, a student that fails to bring a rental title that retails for $100 back in sellable/rentable condition will end up paying $125 total

Students must have a valid credit/debit card

Financial Aid students will be able to take advantage of the Textbook Rental program but must also provide a credit/debit card in case they do not return the rented textbook(s)

Textbook titles that are rent-eligible will be displayed with signage on the shelves next to their normal shelf tags at the OCC Bookstore

The OCC Bookstore will start renting textbooks when we open our textfloor, which will be August 17, 2009.
We want to thank Jamey Briddle, Bess Hanish and the other members of SGOCC leadership for their work on the Textbook Rental Program and making this Textbook Rental Program happen at OCC. Their work and passion for creating a textbook rental option for the OCC students was a big reason that the OCC students will have the option to rent textbooks this Fall.
