Course Prerequisite/Corequisite Enforcement
Orange Coast College enforces the following prerequisites/corequisites at the time of registration:
BUS A139, CHEM A180, BIOL A181, PHIL A150, PSYCH A160, and all MATH, ENGLISH, and ESL courses
Beginning in Fall 2009, all prerequisites and corequisites in the following divisions will be enforced:

Students may be cleared in the registration system for enforced pre and corequisites in one of four ways:
1. Successfully completing the pre/corequisite at Orange Coast College.
2. Placing into the course via a California Community College placement test (if applicable).
3. Successfully completing the equivalent pre/corequisite at another regionally accredited college/university and submitting transcripts to verify successful completion. Students may submit unofficial transcripts for pre and corequisite clearance only but must submit official transcripts if they wish to receive course credit/units. Students, who believe that they have completed the OCC course prerequisite/corequisite at another college, should submit an OCC Prerequisite Equivalency Request Form along with their transcripts to Student Records (Enrollment Center,1st Floor, Watson Hall) well in advance of their registration appointment.
4. Submitting a pre/Corequisite Challenge to the respective division office in accordance with the Matriculation guidelines established by the State.
