Computer Science
Computer Science is the study of ways to use computer equipment to analyze and transform information. Students learn to direct computer operations by writing detailed instructions in computer languages to solve a variety of problems. Programs in Computer Science are designed to prepare people for careers such as programmers, computer scientists, systems analysts, and data processing managers.
Many four-year colleges and universities offer bachelor's degrees in Computer Science. These programs usually include detailed courses in computer design, theory, and programming languages. Master's and doctoral degree programs are also offered. Advanced degree programs help prepare people to teach and conduct research in settings such as universities, laboratories, and industries. Some community colleges offer the first two years of bachelor's degree requirements which can be transferred to a four-year college or university.
