The OCC Student Health Center
offers nursing, medical, and mental health services to the students of Orange Coast College. The Student Health Center serves students who are enrolled in the current semester or session. Students who withdraw from all of their classes in any given semester are no longer eligible for Health Center services in that semester. The OCC student Health Fee covers most services.
A registered nurse is on duty when the center is open. After an assessment by a
registered nurse, appointments with a physician or a psychologist are made in person.
Appointments are made in person on a walk-in basis. The college health nurses are responsible for triage, referrals, and appointments. The center is closed on weekends, college holidays, and during semester breaks.
STUDENT HEALTH FEES
All students are required to pay the health fee, except those students who are members of religious groups that rely solely on prayer for healing (with pastoral documentation), students who are enrolled in courses of less than 2 weeks duration, and students who are only enrolled in apprenticeships. The health fee is $16 per semester, and $13 per summer session. The January intersession is included in the Spring semester for purposes of health fee payment. The health fee covers consultations with the Health Center College Health Nurses, Physicians, and Mental Health Therapists at no cost to the student. Other charges, such as medications and laboratory services, are deeply discounted to OCC students.
