Transfer Opportunity Program

Are you ready to be on TOP?  For information on how you can join the Transfer Opportunity Program:  (714) 432-5792

The Transfer Opportunity Program (TOP) was orignially designed for members of historically underrepresented groups (African-Americans, Native-Americans and Latino/Hispanics).  Currently, TOP is open to all students who are incoming freshman, first generation college students and have an interest in transferring to a four-year institution.  We are committed to providing all students who qualify with a support system that will enhance their probability of a successful transfer.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE???

In order to be a TOP member, you must be a first generation college student, an incoming freshman and have an interest in transferring to a four-year institution.  The following steps must be completed prior to becoming a TOP member:

  • Complete a TOP application
  • Attend a TOP orientation
  • Enroll and successfully complete Counseling 102, "Becoming a Master Student" in your first semester at Orange Coast (Fall Semester).  If you are an ESL student, you must have placed above the ESL 160 level.

OCC's Transfer Opportunity Program offers many useful services that will help you complete the transfer process.  Our staff members take time to evaluate and consider each student's special needs.

SOME OF OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:

Matriculation - Students take part in  an orientation program designed to assist you in making the appropriate course selections.  The orientation program covers a host of topics vital to success as a student.

University Campus Tours - TOP students are regularly given the opportunity to visit and tour four-year college and university campuses.

$Financial Aid$ - Students are given a regular update on such important issues as scholarship, internship and financial aid.

Computer Stations - Two computer stations are available in our center for TOP students to use.  You can type papers or surf the internet!
