OCC's Online Learning Program, in keeping with many events around campus, has undergone a renovation, and its new name is the Instructional Innovation Center (IIC). The purpose of the IIC is to promote equitable and engaging education by supporting online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses at Orange Coast College. This department has long supported Blackboard users and other online resources. Over the past year, the department has hired new staff, said good-bye to some long-time staff, and relocated offices to a central location.
To keep pace with technology, the IIC team has been attending training for the implementation of Canvas, the new learning management system (LMS), which replaced Blackboard on June 1, 2017. Our team will continue to train and support new Canvas users.
