8-Week Workshop Series Begins February 1

Orange Coast College Community Education is offering a series of eight-week classes in February and March that will help elementary and high school age students explore the world of acting on camera and runway and print modeling.

Deborah Wilder Mosely, a modeling teacher and acting coach at Barbizon Modeling & Acting Orange County, will lead an introductory course, “Runway Modeling and On-Camera Commercial Acting Workshop,” on Saturdays from February 1 through March 22. Classes for youngsters ages 6-11 will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m., followed by hour-long sessions for students ages 12 and up at 3:15 p.m. Classes will meet on the OCC campus in Social Science 107.

Registration fee is $149, which includes a $10 materials fee for model/actor worksheets and a DVD. Campus parking is free on Saturdays.

Students will receive basic training for on-camera acting skills and develop picture-perfect modeling confidence, poise, posture and manners. They will also learn how to make runway fashion show turns and instruction on posing for photographs.

Students can register at the OCC Bursar’s Office at (714) 432-5880 after January 2. Students can also sign up online at orangecoastcollege.augusoft.net. For more information, contact OCC Community Education at 714-432-5154.
