Coast Tops 19 Colleges in NCA Cheer Championships

Orange Coast College’s cheerleaders brought home another national title this week, this time from the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships in Daytona Beach, FL, April 9-13.

Orange Coast College competed against 19 other colleges from around the United States in the Large Coed II Division.

“This is our second time to win this division, but our third win in three years,” said team coach Mike Reynolds.

The college’s Cheer and Dance teams are the most decorated in the western United States, with a combined total of more than 75 collegiate national titles in 19 years.

Orange Coast College, founded in 1947, is one of the nation's top transfer schools. With a student population of 22,000, OCC provides exemplary programs leading to Associate degrees and 145 career programs. The college's 164-acre campus is located in the heart of Costa Mesa.
