A five-unit elementary Vietnamese language class will be offered this spring by Orange Coast College's Literature and Languages Division.
Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Feb. 2.
Listed as Vietnamese 185 in OCC's schedule, the course meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 7:30-10:05 p.m.
The course is designed for persons who have completed OCC's Vietnamese 180 class, or those who have completed two years of high school Vietnamese. The class focuses on development of basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in the Vietnamese language at a second-semester level.
Students will be introduced to Vietnamese culture and civilization through selected readings and discussions.
The course is fully transferrable to the California State University system.
Spring registration is under way, and registration appointments are available in OCC's Admissions Office. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
