A three-unit scriptwriting course that focuses on writing for the stage, television and feature films will be offered this spring by Orange Coast College's English Department.
Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Feb. 2.
Listed as English 127 in OCC's schedule, the course meets Monday evenings, from 6-10:15 p.m.
The class is taught by assistant professor of English, Raymond Obstfeld. A member of OCC's faculty for 28 years, Obstfeld is a prolific writer. He has published more than 30 novels and 15 nonfiction works, and has written a dozen motion picture scripts, all of which have been optioned to Hollywood.
The class focuses on the discussion of student works and their evaluation. It is fully transferrable to the University of California and California State University systems.
Spring registration is under way, and registration appointments are available in OCC's Admissions Office. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
