Sixty-seven different courses that meet Friday nights through Sundays will be offered this spring at Orange Coast College.
Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Jan. 30. The semester is set to conclude on Sunday, May 28. The first Saturday classes begin on Feb. 4, and the first Sunday courses get under way Feb. 5.
OCC's 52 Saturday courses represent such academic disciplines as Aviation and Pilot Training, Business, Computer Information Systems, Dance, Digital Media Arts and Design, Drafting Technology, Economics, English, Film/Video, History, Machine Technology, Marine Activities, Mathematics, Photography, Physical Education, Political Science, Psychology, Real Estate, Sociology, Spanish, Speech Communication, Theatre Arts, and Welding. Saturday classes meet mornings and afternoons.
Orange Coast College's 11 Sunday courses include "Microeconomics" (Economics 185), "History of the United States Since 1876" (History 175), "Swimming for Fitness" (Physical Education 146AD), "Soccer" (Physical Education 177AD), "Introduction to U.S. Government" (Political Science 180), "Introductory Psychology" (Psychology 100), "Introduction to Human Sexuality" (Psychology 165), "Real Estate Principles" (Real Estate 110), "Introduction to Human Sexuality" (Sociology 165), and
"Interpersonal Communication" (Speech Communication 100).
Sunday courses meet mornings. Several conclude after noon.
Courses that meet on Fridays and Saturdays include "Current Issues in Early Childhood Education" (Early Childhood 199AD), "Disaster Preparedness" (Early Childhood Education 262), "Child Abuse Identification and Referral" (Early Childhood 263) and "Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation" (Health Education 111).
Registration for spring classes is under way. Orange Coast College's spring class schedule is available on campus, and is posted on the college's website (orangecoastcollege.edu). Spring applications are available online and in OCC's Admissions Office. The office is open Mondays through Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The campus will be closed for the holidays, Dec. 20 through Jan. 2.
