An eight-week gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) course will be offered this spring by Orange Coast College's Welding Technology Department.

Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Jan. 30.

Listed as Welding Tech 130AD in OCC's schedule, four sections of the class are set. Two sections begin the week of Jan. 31. One meets Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6-9:20 p.m., and the other is set for Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7-10:10 p.m. Second eight-week sections meet during the same hours, beginning April 3.

The 1.5-unit course teaches GTAW theory and practice, and covers aluminum and stainless steels, and qualification requirements. The class is fully transferable to the California State University system.

Spring registration is under way, and registration appointments are available in OCC's Admissions Office. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to

6:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

OCC's spring enrollment fees are $26 per unit. The spring schedule is listed on
