A five-unit course that prepares students to take the private pilot's written examination will be offered this spring by Orange Coast College's Aviation Pilot Training Department.
Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Jan. 30.
Listed as Aviation Pilot Training 130 in OCC's schedule, three sections of the course are slated. One meets Monday and Wednesday mornings, from 9:25 a.m. to noon; a second meets Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 6:30-9:05 p.m.; and the third meets Saturdays, from 7:55 a.m. to 1:20 p.m.
The class covers navigation, weather, aircraft and engines, and federal aviation regulations. The course is transferable to the California State University system.
Spring registration is under way, and registration appointments are available in OCC's Admissions Office. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to
6:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
OCC's spring enrollment fees are $26 per unit. The spring schedule is listed on the college's Internet web page (orangecoastcollege.edu). The printed schedule is available in the Admissions Office.
