Fundamentals of the Italian language will be taught this spring in a three-unit course being offered by Orange Coast College's Literature and Languages Division.
Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Jan. 29.
Titled "Elementary Italian," and listed as Italian 180 in OCC's schedule, three sections of the course are slated. Two sections meet during the evenings.
Students enrolled in the course will learn to read, write, speak and comprehend Italian at the beginning level. Selected literary works by leading Italian authors will be introduced. Students will gain an insight into the Italian culture. The course is fully transferable to the University of California and California State University systems.
Spring registration is under way, and registration appointments are available in
OCC's Enrollment Center in Watson Hall. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
OCC's spring enrollment fees are $20 per unit. The spring schedule is listed on the college's Internet web page (orangecoastcollege.edu). The printed schedule is available in the Admissions Office.
