Fundamentals of the Italian language will be taught this spring in a three-unit course being offered by Orange Coast College's Literature and Languages Division.
Spring semester classes begin on Monday, Feb. 2.
Titled "Elementary Italian," and listed as Italian 180 in OCC's schedule, two sections of the course are slated. One meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11:10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., and the other is set for the same evenings, from 7-9:35 p.m.
Students enrolled in the course will learn to read, write, speak and comprehend Italian at the beginning level. The course will introduce selected literary works by leading Italian authors. Students will gain an insight into the Italian culture.
The course is fully transferable to the University of California and California State University systems.
Spring registration is under way, and registration appointments are available in OCC's Admissions Office. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
