AN INTELLECTUAL GIANT AND MASTER TEACHER
Mary McChesney. It sounds like a name straight from the pages of Charles Dickens...or Emily Bronte. It isn’t. It belongs to a brilliant Orange Coast College faculty member who served the college and its students for 33 years, from 1950-83. She taught Spanish, English, American literature and world literature, and labored as assistant chair of the Literature and Languages Division for more than two decades.
