OCC FORUM LOOKS AT MASTER FACILITIES PLAN, STUDENT HOUSING, OCC VILLAGE

The OCC College Council and Institutional Effectiveness Committee will host a series Campus Forums to discuss a number of vital issues and developments that are important to the OCC community. Refreshments will be served.

Topics and dates are as follows:

1. The OCC Master Facilities Plan elements of student housing and the OCC Village including the possibility of student-centered retail and program-centered services, such as a boutique hotel and restaurant that may serve as learning laboratories for the Hotel Administration and Culinary programs.
Thursday, March 6, at 12:00 p.m. in Admin 108

2. The review of CCCD strategic goals and objectives
Thursday, March 13, at 3:00 p.m. in the Student Center Lounge

3. Faculty hiring at OCC
Thursday, March 20, at 3:00 p.m. in the Student Center Lounge

4. The implementation of the District-wide Degree Works program and Student Success Initiatives as mandated by SB 1456, “The Student Success Act of 2012.”
Thursday, April 3, at 12:00 p.m. in the Student Center Lounge

5. Program vitality and strengthening student success.
Wednesday, April 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Student Center Lounge

6. The ongoing internationalization of OCC
Wednesday, April 23, at 10:00 a.m. in Admin 108

OCC President Dennis Harkins urged faculty and staff to attend the forums. For those unable to attend, he suggested that they contact College Council or Institutional Effectiveness representatives to share their thoughts on the issues that will be discussed.
