The library provides open workshops for students to learn how to do research in the physical and virtual library. The students do not need to make a reservation, but can just drop in. These 60-minute workshops are held in the library’s Lecture Room (go right when you enter the library) Extra credit slips will be provided.

These workshops will focus on the process of doing basic to advanced library and information research using both print and electronic resources. Students will learn to identify, access, and search different types and sources of information; to identify scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals; to search our electronic resources; to evaluate search results for credible resources; to cite their sources in either MLA or APA styles; and to understand how the proper use and citation of library and information resources helps them to avoid plagiarism. The skills learned in these workshops enable students to be successful in their college, career, and life.

The following are our library student workshops this spring semester:

1. Wednesday, April 9, 6 pm.
2. Wednesday, April 16, 1 pm.
