ACCJC CONFIRMS OCC ACCREDITATION
The Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACCJC), reaffirmed Orange Coast College’s accreditation and removed the college from warning status, OCC President Dennis Harkins announced.

OCC PRESENTS 2020 MASTER PLAN
Orange Coast College hosted a 2020 Master Plan Presentation for the community on Tuesday in the college’s Library. The presentation will be followed by a 7:00 p.m. public meeting on the California Environmental Quality Act/Environmental Impact Report, including an opportunity for public comments.

FALL SEMESTER BEGINS AUGUST 25 WITH 10% INCREASE IN CLASS SEATS
When Orange Coast College begins its fall semester on August 25, there will be 7,145 more seats available for students – nearly a 10% increase from last year. Coast will have 81,532 seats available compared to 74,357 in fall 2013.

FALL WELCOME DAYS 2014
“Welcome Days” take place Monday, August 25, and Tuesday, August 26 – the first two days of fall semester classes. The campus is recruiting volunteers to spend an hour or more greeting students and providing information such as campus maps at one of the information tables in the Quad (by RBM Theater), Library (near parking lot E & Lewis) or in front of Watson Hall.

KRISTIN CLARK NAMED OCC MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Kristin Clark, OCC’s Vice President of Student Services, is Orange Coast College’s 2013-2014 Manager of the Year. It is the second time Clark has won the honor – she was named Manager of the Year by Coast District Management Association in 2006-2007.

“Bloom,” a new book written by past OCC student Carmindy, is geared to young girls just starting out on doing a beauty regiment. This will be the fourth book written by Carmindy, who was the makeup artist from the popular television show, “What Not to Wear.”

OC FAIR OPEN THROUGH AUGUST 10
The 2014 OC Fair, themed Summer Starts Here, will run through August 10 and will bring food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports and fun, as well as the Super Pass, Toyota Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre and events in The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The Fair is open Wednesday-Sunday. Concert tickets, action sports reserved seats, single-day general admission and the popular Super Pass are available for purchase online at ocfair.com or from the on-site Box Office. Free parking and shuttle service are available on Saturdays and Sundays from the Experian parking structure located off the Bristol St. exit of the 405 freeway.
