Student Success Center Introduces Saturday Hours for Fall Semester
The Student Success Center is now open Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The SSC offers drop-in tutoring in math, English/writing, accounting, computer science, world languages, many social science courses and more. Study groups also are available and can be requested by students or faculty. Workshops, including a Study Skills series, are offered on a weekly basis.

OCC Theatre Presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream With a Twist
The Department of Theatre Arts will present William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” on October 9–11 and 16–18. The production will be performed in the Drama Lab Studio on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings at 7:30 p.m., with a final Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. in lieu of the evening performance.

OCC Will Host Lunar Eclipse Viewing Sept. 27
The Orange Coast College Astronomy Department will host a viewing of a total lunar eclipse on Sunday, Sept. 27. The eclipse, which is the last in a four-eclipse series that began in April 2014, will be visible in the Pacific, the Americas, Europe, Africa and western Asia.

LIBRARY STUDENT WORKSHOPS
The library provides open workshops for students to learn how to do research in the physical and virtual library. Students do not need to make a reservation, but can just drop in. The 60-minute workshops are held in the Library’s Lecture Room (go right when you enter the library) and extra credit slips will be provided.

Message From the Chancellor – Sept. 11
Chancellor Gene Farrell recognized the survivors and victims of 9/11 last week by lowering the flags to half-staff on Friday. He writes “I am proud of the various programs available at Coastline Community College, Golden West College and Orange Coast College for our military and veterans who help to protect our country from such tragedies every day.”
