PIRATES ON WHEELS PLAN SKATE TRAINING CAMP
Wednesday, December 12, 2012

A mandatory orientation meeting will take place on Friday, December 14th, at 1:00 p.m. in the Handball Court for students and staff who would like to participate in the Pirates on Wheels skate training camp during the winter break.

OCC's roller skating club is planning a multi-week skate training camp to help students and staff learn to skate or improve their skating skills.

Details are still being finalized, but the rough plan is to hold skating sessions every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons (from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.) at an outdoor location on OCC's campus (weather permitting).

"We're working on arranging to have guest skating instructors at the sessions, and the classes will welcome everyone from super-beginners through advanced skaters, according to club advisor Marc Perkins.

Skaters will be required to provide their own equipment (including quad or inline roller skates, knee pads, wrist guards, and a helmet).
