ALEX GOLSON 'LUTZ RADIO HOUR' ON STAGE IN LONG BEACH
Thursday, December 17, 2009

Lutz cast

Radio's waning heyday – a time when the broadcast medium linked people to the world – comes alive in "Lutz Radio Hour."

The play, by Alex Golson and the OCC Repertory Theatre Company of Orange Coast College, is being staged at the Long Beach Playhouse Mainstage Theatre, 5021 E. Anaheim St., Long Beach, through Dec. 27.

A nostalgic glimpse into the world of radio, the play takes place on the night before the radio station converts to television. Complete with sound effects, radio commercials, and, of course, laughs, drama and fun, the 1947 "Lutz Radio Hour" is a treat for the entire family.

Performances are at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday (no show Dec. 25), with 2:00 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 27.

Tickets are $22, $20 seniors and $12 students with I.D. For more information call 562-494-1014 or visit www.lbph.com.
