OCC student Staphany Suarez was featured in the Orange County Register's "Season of Caring" article recently. While she was a junior at Santa Ana High School, Staphany participated in the Girls Incorporated of Orange County, which runs program each summer at Orange Coast College. Girls Inc. addresses issues teenage girls face every day – body image, relationships, college and money.

As a representative for Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE), Suarez was a youth leader and ambassador last year for The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.
