Membership Criteria

Students may apply for Permanent Membership if ALL of the eligibility criteria have been met.  Initial Membership is available to those who have completed less than two qualifying courses and may be advanced to Permanent level once the coursework has been completed with the required GPA.

 

 Initial Membership Requires:

  • 12 or more units of letter-graded college coursework complete
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better
  • One or more qualifying courses completed or in progress, with a 3.0 GPA or better among them
  • College Service Charge paid and student is in good standing with the Dean of Student Services
  • Application and membership fee submitted to the Chapter
 

Permanent Membership Requires

  • A cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better
  • Two or more qualifying courses completed with a 3.0 GPA or better among them
  • College Service Charge paid and student is in good standing with the Dean of Student Services
  • Application and membership fee submitted to the Chapter

Permanent members ONLY will receive a notation on their transcripts and are eligible to purchase and wear OPS honors regalia at their commencement ceremonies.
