Many states are beginning to implement preschool programs, improving the future outlook of child development specialists across the nation. Orange Coast College offers a child development program that is among the best. with courses emphasizing strong theoretical and practical skills needed to work with children from birth to 5 years, and hands-on experience through the College's lab school for children. Courses also are available that prepare students to work with children with disabilities. Completion of the program fulfills Title 22 licensing requirements and Title 5 early childhood education course requirements for the Child Development Permit at the teacher level.
