Film and Video

​​​​​​​As traditional forms of media continue to grow and evolve, film and video has emerged as one of the most pre­eminent forms of communication. Orange Coast College's film/video program combines state-of-the-art facilities with a passionate and knowledgeable faculty resulting in a department that is one of the best-kept secrets in film education in Southern California.

Students of OCC's Film/Video program will gain hands-on experience in a top-notch production facility that includes a fully-digital, tapeless, High Definition-TV studio with a computer-controlled lighting system, an HD screening room with industry-standard audio recording and mixing systems, HD field-production cameras and professional lighting, location audio, and camera mounting accessories; all students have to provide is the imagination. 

OCC partners with the Newport Beach Film Festival, giving students access to a premiere film event. taking place right in our backyard. The program also give students access to film internships through our OCC Internship Academy. 

Certificate of Achievement 


This program is designed to give students two years of extensive theory and technical training in the basic skills required for employment in the film, video, television, multi-media and entertainment industries. Courses cover various subjects, such as producing, directing, camera operation, lighting, and sound and editing.
