This program prepares students for employment as entry-level food service supervisors in acute and long-term healthcare facilities. Some examples of job duties include auditing patient menus, visiting patients to discuss dietary problems, and coordinating work of food production personal with other departments.
Dietetic Service Manager
This program prepares students for entry-level employment as food service supervisors, with the potential to advance to management positions in acute and long-term healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include menu planning, food purchasing, food production, financial management, employee recruitment, training and supervision, and nutritional assessment. Graduates of this program join the Dietetic Managers Association and take the national certification exam.
Associate of Science Degree
Dietetic Technician - Management Health Care
This program prepares students for careers as dietetic technicians who communicate and work effectively with an interdisciplinary workforce and clientele in the community. Completion of this program. in conjunction with the Dietetic Service Supervisor and Dietetic Service manager certificates and the associate degree program at OCC qualify students to sit for the Dietetic Technician Registration exam and become a member of the American Dietetic Association.
