As the middle-aged and elderly population continues to grow. the incidence of cardiopulmonary disease will increase. resulting in a demand for respiratory care practitioners. Associate in Science Degree
This program is designed to prepare students for careers as respiratory care practitioners providing cognitive. psychomotor and affective qualities to meet community needs. Employment possibilities include respiratory therapist. respiratory therapy specialist. and respiratory care practitioner. This program is a two-year program beginning each fall semester. Students gain approximately 1,000 hours of clinical practice. as well as access to physician lectures and laboratory settings.
OCC's respiratory care program is fully accredited and graduates are eligible for California legal certification (RCP) and certification (CRT) and registry (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
