Architectural Technology

Architecture addresses one of the most basic of human needs: shelter. Whether it's a single-family residence or a 100-story skyscraper, a demand exists for creative individuals to design and build structures to carry us through the 21st century.

Orange Coast College's architecture technology

program is designed around two incremental goals: to prepare students for entry-level positions at design and architecture firms, and to give students the skills necessary to transfer to an architecture and/or environmental design program at a four-year institution.

The architecture industry is expected to grow in the next five years, with the strongest demand expected in "green" design and services.

Certificates of Achievement

Architectural Design 1

The first year Certificate of Achievement prepares students for an entry-level position at an architectural or related design office.

Architecture Design 2

The second year Certificate of Achievement prepares students in the areas of critical thinking, design and visual communication for successful transfer to an architecture or environmental design program at a four-year university, or for a junior/intermediate level drafting/design position at an architectural or related firm.
