As technology becomes more sophisticated and complex, the need for trained, certified individuals in information and communications technologies will be great, with higher-than-average salaries and high job growth expected well into the next decade. Orange Coast College's Information and Communication Technology program has partnered with several technology companies in Orange County such as Cisco, Microsoft, VMWare, EMC, Citrix and Juniper Systems, which have provided training, classroom curriculum and support to prepare students for employment in this growing field.


Certificates of Specialization 


Network Technician 

This certificate prepares students to design and implement a converged network. 

Network Infrastructure 

This certificate prepares students to design and implement a converged network using technology from Cisco. 

Enterprise Routing 

This certificate prepares students to design and implement a converged network using technology from Cisco, with a focus on router configurations. 

Virtualization and Cloud Computing 

This certificate prepares students to design and implement a converged network. with an emphasis on storage management and the cloud. 

Network Security 

This certificate prepares students to design and implement a converged network. with an emphasis on information security and hacking defenses. 

Network Services and Applications 

This certificate prepares students to design and implement a converged network, with an emphasis on wireless networking, voice over IP, and home technology.  

Network Professional 

In order to receive this certificate, students must have already completed the Network Technician Certificate of Specialization. This certificate expands on the skills needed to design and implement a converged network, emphasizing applied management and interpersonal communication technologies. 

Network Administration - Windows 

This certificate is designed to prepare students to deploy, build. design, optimize and operate a Windows server and desktop environment. In addition this certificate provides preparation for students seeking industry-standard certification tests from CompTIA and Microsoft. 

Network Administration - Linux 

This certificate is designed to prepare students to deploy, build. design, optimize and operate a Linux server and desktop environment.
