Horticulture
The Horticulture department prides itself on having an exceptional program for students planning to enter the field of horticulture, as well as for people already working in the industry who wish to expand and update their horticultural knowledge. 

Most classes are offered during convenient evening hours, allowing working students to study for a new career and for those with jobs in the field to upgrade their skills. Classes are held in beautifully landscaped facilities, including a well-equipped classroom, more than 6,000 square feet of greenhouse space, and lush grounds planted with a variety of trees, shrubs, vines and ground covers, as well as more than 4,000 square feet of shade structures. 

Courses have been designed so that students may prepare for careers in landscape design, landscape maintenance, interior plantscaping, pest and disease control and nursery operation. Course content is relevant. up-to-date. meets current industry standards and has been developed with input from experts in the horticultural industry. 


Certificate of Achievement 


​This program gives students the knowledge, skills and experience with various plant species needed to begin a career in the landscaping and plant nursery industries. Students will be prepared for careers in landscape design, contracting and maintenance, arboriculture, nursery practices, and irrigation and water management Students will also learn how to design landscapes with an eye toward sustainability practices. ​
