ESL Credit Program Overview

Beginning in the Fall of 2020,

the Course Sequence for ESL has changed!

Although the courses are different, the levels are the same.  Therefore, a student who completed a level in the previous course sequence can easily transition into the new course sequence by taking the next level.

Transitioning from the Previous Course Sequence to the New Course Sequence:

  • A student who completed ESL 011 and/or ESL 015 in the Previous Course Sequence should enroll in ESL 024 and/or ESL 022.
  • A student who completed ESL 021 and/or ESL 026 in the Previous Course Sequence should enroll in ESL 034 and/or ESL 032.
  • A student who completed ESL 031 and/or ESL 035 in the Previous Course Sequence should enroll in ESL 054 and/or ESL 052.
  • A student who completed ESL 051 and/or ESL 055 in the Previous Course Sequence should enroll in ESL 062.
  • A student who completed ESL 060 and/or ESL 065 in the Previous Course Sequence should enroll in ESL 192.
  • A student who completed ESL 099 in the Previous Sequence should enroll in ENGL 100 or ESL 100.

In order to begin in the New Course Sequence, you do not need to take a Placement Test.  Please take this ESL Guided Self Placement Survey in order to choose the correct level for your abilities in English.
