To investigate the impact of continuity and change upon human life in a sequential and cumulative manner and through a systematic application of such intellectual tools as analysis and interpretation to develop a self-educating person.​


  1. To offer courses that provide the academic foundation of transfer students as measured by the acceptance of those students at four-year colleges and universities.
  2. To continue courses that provide a general education in the unique background of different nations, cultures, ethnic groups and the state of California, as evidenced by the acceptance of these courses in meeting graduation requirements.
  3. To continue a program of staff development as measured by periodic peer evaluation and/or the appropriate staff development committees.
  4. To provide counseling information relative to advanced work in this field or for students who are having academic difficulty as measured by student evaluations.
