It includes full-text content from three core encyclopedias: Gale Encyclopedia of Science, 3rd edition; MacMillan Science Library; and U-X-L Encyclopedia of Science. PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, and the pre-clinical sciences. The PubMed file contains bibliographic citations and author abstracts from approximately 3,900 currentbiomedical journals published in the United States and 70 foreign countries. The file contains approximately 9 million records dating back to 1966.
The Aria Database is a searchable reference guide to arias by name, opera, language, and voice type including word-by-word translations into English, libretti, and MIDI files for many of the arias.(1278 arias, 170 operas, 60 composers, 381 translations, and 223 midi files).
Ask ERIC is the world's largest source of education information, with more than 1 million abstracts of documents and journal articles on education research and practice. This version of the Database, updated monthly with the latest citations available, provides access to ERIC Document citations from 1966 through September 2001 and ERIC Journal citations from 1966 through August 2001.
The Children's Picture Book Database at Miami University is a bibliography for designing literature-based thematic units for all disciplines, including health education. The database contains abstracts of over 4000 picture books for children, preschool to grade 3. Search over 900 keywords (topics, concepts, and skills) to locate books with storylines adaptable to your curriculum or program.
CountryWatch has real-time news articles and country report information for each of the 191 countries of the world. Information includes background information about a country as well as contemporary issues. Additional resources include: statistical sources, Social Studies educational sources, and maps. Much of the information available is free for OCC faculty and students. However, other parts are pay per use and it is up to the individual user to make those arrangements. This is a good source to use in conjunction with the CIA Factbook, which offers similar country profiles and statistical information.
Baker's Play General Catalogue is a listing of resources and training aides. Included are a yellow pages section with items such as make-up kits, lighting, stage direction and costume. It also lists genres of plays including but not limited to -youth, women's, one act, Christmas and full length.
