For Spring 2017, your online class may be offered in one of two special software environments called learning mangement systems (LMS). These two programs are Blackboard Learn and Canvas. Blackboard and Canvas both allow you to experience many of the same activities that you would complete in an on-campus class. These activities include online lectures, assignments, quizzes, discussions, and email, which provides private communication between you and your instructor (or other students).
You will be able to access your online classroom from anywhere that you have Internet access. The classroom is dynamic so the work you and your classmates do will be visible immediately to the instructor. Your instructor has designed your online class to be equivalent to the on-campus version of the same class. The LMS environment helps you and your instructor communicate and complete all of the online class activities and assignments.
This introduction will answer these questions for you:
- Where Is My Online Class?
- What Are My User Name & Password?
- How Do I Log On To Blackboard Learn?
