Don’t Worry. You’re Ready. We’ve Got You — and We Have For 75 Years

OCC Planetarium Building

At Orange Coast College, we know that life will sometimes throw adversity your way. That’s why we’re committed to providing the real-world skills you need to succeed, no matter what — it’s our personal commitment to you and to each of our 20,000 students, and it’s a commitment we’re putting an extra spotlight on this year, our 75th anniversary.

OCC’s expansive 164-acre campus, located in the heart of Orange County, features the latest in modern technology. OCC’s first permanent structure was the Technology Building, built circa 1949, and today, the campus boasts nearly 100 state-of-the-art facilities. There’s our brand-new Student Union and Aquatics Center. The Professional Mariner Training Center and Social Science and Language Arts building. And, over the next few years, the College will continue to invest millions of dollars in premier facilities for students, including a new Chemistry building.

Excellence takes time, stamina, and flexibility, and OCC has a 75-year history of listening to and anticipating the needs of our students. In fact, the College has returned to its roots with the addition of an 800-bed student housing facility called The Harbour. Transitioning back into a residential campus both pays homage to OCC’s history and removes barriers to education by providing students with much-needed affordable housing.

Plus, our Pirates’ Promise program makes it easier than ever to focus on your academic goals by paying for your tuition and books for up to two years. More information and eligibility criteria can be found online.

Students at OCC enjoy big-time amenities in a small-college atmosphere. In addition to free tutoring, counseling, health and wellness services, and on-campus public safety, OCC offers programs to meet the needs of every student. We have resources for first-time college students, single parents, former foster youth/wards of the court, veterans, international students, and many more. Best of all, with appointments available both in-person and virtually, OCC offers flexibility, getting you the services you need when you need them.

OCC ranks among the top two-year colleges in helping students transfer to the University of California and California State University systems. In addition to transfer degrees, the College offers Associate in Arts and Science degrees, Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT), CSU/GE and IGETC certification, and certificates in a wide variety of career programs. Plus, OCC provides limitless opportunities in student government, student clubs, honors societies and 20 athletics programs.

A lot has changed in 75 years, but one thing that has stayed the same is this: OCC is committed to providing a flexible, high-quality education to Orange County and beyond.
