Sub-Standard Grades
Students, who have received a sub-standard grade (D or F) in a course taken at Orange Coast College, may petition to have the sub-standard grade “excluded” from their grade point average (GPA).  In order to qualify for an exclusion of a sub-standard grade, the course must be retaken at a regionally accredited college or university. The course must be evaluated for equivalency to the OCC course.  The student must submit a Petition to Exclude a Sub-standard grade Interactive 11-30-07.pdfPetition to Exclude a Sub-standard Grade to the Enrollment Center.  The grade will still appear on the student's official transcript, but the substandard grade will be excluded from the GPA calculation.
