Space Still Available for Summer Career Academy for High School Students

​Spots are still open for OCC's Summer Career Academy for high schools students. Classess in the Career Academy give students a chance to explore different career options, including fashion, film, seamanship and maritime, and more! 

A fashion academy will begin on July 17 and run through the week. The class will give students insight in the fashion industry and explores fashion design, merchandising, branding, styling and sustainability. The class cost $50 and will take place in OCC's Consumer Science room 204. 

A mariners academy will start on July 31 and run through Aug. 3 at OCC's Sailing Center in Newport Beach. Students will learn about various maritime careers while simultaneously learning boating skills. The cost is $50. 

A final academy focused on careers in television production will be offered on Aug. 7-10. Students will have access to industry standard equipment and technology, and will practice studio camera operation, technical direction, audio and floor directing, and more. The cost is $50 and will take place in Art Center 143.
