Orange Coast College was voted a favorite college in Orange County by readers of the LA Times.
Voting for the LA Times' "Best of Times" opened in late July, and allowed readers to vote for their favorite companies and organizations across a wide spectrum of industries, including retail, healthcare, education and more. The winners were announced in a special publication that ran in the TimesOC on Nov. 11.
In addition to OCC being selected as a favorite college in Orange County, the Coast Community College District — which oversees OCC and its sister colleges, Golden West and Coastline College — was named the "Best Place to Work" by LA Times readers.
Orange Coast College celebrated its 70th Anniversary this year, commemorating seven decades of serving its local community. Since 1948, OCC has welcomed more than 1.5 million students on its campus, including many generations of the same families. The College is a top transfer school in Orange County to the Cal State University and University of California systems combined, and has a robust offering of career and technical education programs that produce a highly skilled workforce in Orange County and beyond.
"I am so pleased that Orange Coast College has been selected as a favorite college in Orange County. As an alumni, I can attest to the quality of education offered at OCC," says Interim President Kevin Ballinger. "I'm also happy to see our District selected as the Best Place to Work; it's a great honor to have our community recognize the work we do at Coast."
