OCC Rep to Present 30 Plays In 60 Minutes

Orange Coast College's Repertory Theatre Company will speed things up with 30 two-minute plays as part of "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind," an ensemble experiment in chaos, laughter, tragedy, politics, and more.

Performances will take place during the weekend's of April 8–9 and15–16, with all shows starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Drama Lab Studio.

The longest running play in Chicago history, "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" presents short scenes performed in random order with an interactive audience.

"There will be a clothesline along the back wall of the stage with the numbers of all the plays hanging there, along with a time clock. The audience gets to choose which plays will be performed in which order by calling the number of the next play," says director and theatre instructor Rick Golson. "The plays are funny, quirky, surprising, sometimes sad or introspective, a wide variety. Every performance will be different."

Tickets run $5 in advance at www.occtickets.com or $7 at the door (cash only).
